Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) describes the ability of a product to operate reliable in an electromagnetic environment without affecting it with unwanted electromagnetic phenomena.

We are accredited by the > DAkkS and recognized by the IECEE in the > CB Scheme. In addition, we are a member of the > Third Party Test Data Program of Unterwriters Laboratories (UL).

As > designated technical service (category A, B und D) of the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamtes (KBA) we ware authorized to carry out EMC tests for EC type-approvals, UN ECE licenses and national road traffic regulations.

We support you in the creation of a test plan tailored to your requirements, both for normative tests and for development tests. Please introduce us to your product.

EMC Services

We investigate the electromagnetic compatibility of assemblies, devices and systems for use in the medical, automotive, railway, industrial and laboratory sectors. In our anechoic chambers (3 m / 10 m working section), we can test both small and larger products with a weight of up to 3 t.

  • Tests and approval service for the motor vehicle directive (E-mark)

  • EMC tests for the aviation sector (DO-160 section 21)

Emission Testing

  • Conducted Disturbance (1-phase, 3-phase, 25 A) 9 kHz - 30 MHz

  • Radiated Disturbance in 3 - 10 m distance (150 kHz - 18 GHz)

  • Low Frequency (electrical- und magnetic field 5 Hz - 30 kHz)

  • Disturbance Power (30 MHz - 300 MHz)

  • Main Voltage Phenomena (harmonic and flicker) 1-phase, 16 A

  • Safety measurement in electromagnetic fields and environmental tests

Immunity Testing

  • ESD-Generation 25 kV

  • RF Fields more than 100 V/m between 150 kHz and 18 GHz

  • Fast Transients (Burst) 4 kV

  • High Power Transients (Surge) 4 kV; 1,2/50 µs

  • Vehicle on board electrical transient and harmonic disturbances

  • Induced RF Currents (U0 = 30 V)

  • Power Frequency Magnetic Fields 160 A/m

  • Pulse Magnetic Fields Immunity 1400 A/m

  • Voltage Dips Interrupts and Fluctuations on AC and DC Supply Systems
